The Story of 500 Years. ～Interaction with craft masters.～
This tour will take you to some mountains, where you will meet and talk with the mountain foresters, carpenters, and woodworkers. You will be guided by the architects specialized in traditional construction methods, which link the craftspeople with their mountain communities. In talking with them, you will learn the story of wood that travels 500 years in people’s lives.

The Yoshino forestry, which is considered a model for forestry in Japan, has a history of 500 years. This unique program allows you to learn how forestry has developed in Japan, a country with limited land area, where most of it consists of mountainous regions.
