Kamado is a restaurant located in Shika No Fune, and is very popular with not only locals but also tourists from all over the world. Open in the morning, it is well-known for its delicious rice cooked by a traditional Japanese oven and its local side dishes. Inside the building, there is also a grocery store which sells a wide range of food, which we can pair with rice and utensils to enjoy rice even more. This workshop provides the experience of putting firewood into a traditional Japanese oven called a kamado, and then cooking rice grown in Nara. It's also fun to make rice balls with the freshly cooked rice. Enjoy the flavor of the rice along with miso soup and side dishes!
